Treo Bike Tours COVID 19 Reopening Plan
(updated 07/15/20)
GENERAL OREGON PHASE TWO PRECAUTIONS:
Treo’s intent is to comply with the Governor of Oregon’s orders. Health and safety has always been been a priority for Treo Bike Tours since its inception in 2012. TREO Ranches employees both an Employee Safety Coordinator and a Public Safety Coordinator. It is our intent to exercise reasonable care to minimize the risk of COVID 19 transmission to our guests and employees.
CONTACT TRACING SYSTEM:
Treo can provide contact tracing of each individual group of guests and the employees who worked with them. This can be done using our Reservation/Transportation and Payroll Forms.
PPE SUPPLY:
As of July 1, masks are required in all public indoor spaces. Masks and gloves will be available for guest use. Because it is a gray area as to whether or not Treo Ranches is considered a “public indoor space”, we will leave the choice of wearing a mask to our guests. Masks and gloves will be provided to Treo employees, as well as training on proper use. Masks and gloves are required for employees during food service and sanitation procedures. Treo employees will change gloves when changing tasks. Any task where Treo normally requires PPE will continue to require the appropriate PPE. Treo already has a PPE Training Program as part of their existing Safety Plan therefore proper donning and doffing will be reviewed by employees prior to opening.
SIX FOOT DISTANCING REQUIREMENT:
Treo can maintain 6 foot distancing between guests and employees in most situations and employee contact with guests can be limited thru scheduling, training, and other means. When six foot distancing is not possible, reasonable mitigation will be used. Individuals in a group may comingle, but employees and guests should practice reasonable mitigation, if full social distancing is not possible. Reasonable mitigation is defined as the least amount of contact necessary to effectively perform the task. Six foot distancing will also be practiced when possible between employees working together. Work processes at the Lodge have been reviewed. The discussion of barriers was/will be included in these reviews. Distancing Training will be added to our preopening Continuing Education Program.
VEHICLES:
Vehicles must have hand sanitizer on board and the drivers must clean between groups paying special attention to touchpoints.
PARTIES LESS THAN TEN:
Treo can limit total guests in a group to ten to accommodate State guidelines. Only one group is booked at the Lodge at a time. Guest wishing not to share sleeping quarters should limit their group size to seven, which is the number of bedrooms available at the Lodge. Treo’s total capacity is fourteen riders.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES:
During most of the day, social distancing requirements can be readily accommodated. There may be times at the beginning and end of the activity that will require the use of masks outdoors per the Governor’s orders of 7/15/2020.
APPOINTMENT ONLY:
Treo is a reservation only facility. Opening reservations are already handled electronically.
METICULOUS HAND HYGIENE:
Treo can provide hand sanitizer in multiple locations throughout the facility for guest and employee use, in addition to the existing restroom sinks. Phase Two recommends using hand sanitizer after washing to disinfect hands. Treo employees will have a goal of washing their hands twice as often as recommended to achieve meticulous hand hygiene. Treo employees understand that sanitizer is not a substitute for proper hand washing with regards to food handling and after restroom use. Proper handwashing techniques will be reviewed prior to opening.
RESTROOM SANITATION:
Treo can provide separate restroom facilities for employees at the Lodge and can/will follow CDC Guidelines for additional sanitation of ALL restrooms, above and beyond our normal procedures. Currently, the State of Oregon mandates twice daily cleaning or a notice posted that restrooms are cleaned only once daily.
MITIGATION AND RESPONSE:
Treo has a Mitigation and Response Program specific to COVID 19 concerns that will be reviewed prior to opening.
ENHANCED COVID 19 SPECIFIC TRAINING:
In addition to the aforementioned training regarding PPE, distancing, handwashing, sanitation and mitigation and response, Treo will also, prior to opening, provide training on:
Knowing the symptoms of COVID 19: cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of smell or taste.
Understand how COVID 19 is transmitted: coughing, sneezing, talking, touching or via objects touched by someone with the virus.
Proper cough/sneeze etiquette.
Avoid touching ones face.
Avoid unnecessary travel, especially to high risk areas.
Contact tracing.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTION:
Prior to reopening each season, Treo cleans all facilities from top to bottom, and reviews Standard Operating Procedures for the Lodge. In light of COVID 19, additional and ongoing attention will be paid to frequent cleaning and disinfection of work areas, high traffic areas and commonly touched surfaces in all facilities (at least twice a day), utilizing products recommended for COVID 19 from the EPA website and observing proper dwell times. Guest rooms will be aired out using existing windows between groups. Employees will use gloves when handling soiled linens. Collateral items, such as pens and other fomites, will be sprayed with disinfectant. A housekeeping safety meeting prior to opening will be scheduled to go over these additional measures. An Enhanced Cleaning Guide using a map of the Lodge Floor Plan has been created and will be posted.
HOT TUBS:
Currently, State Guidelines allow limited use spas operated in conjunction with a companion facility to open. Treo’s normal, written maintenance procedures will be followed. State of Oregon mandates all of the hot/cold tubs and area to be cleaned, the water system flushed and the equipment checked to make sure it is proper working order prior to opening. Procedures will be reviewed by employees at that time.
ICE MACHINES:
Ice machines must be emptied and cleaned and incoming and outgoing lines flushed prior to opening. Procedures will be reviewed by employees at that time.
SIGNAGE:
As recommended by the State of Oregon, clear signage will be posted for listing symptoms, asking staff and visitors with symptoms to stay home, for distancing and listing whom to contact if they need assistance. Additional signage will be considered, such as hand washing, as needed.
EMPLOYEE SPECIFIC GUIDELINES:
In addition to the previous topics, Treo has discussed and will modify employee schedules and spaces to limit exposure, including flexible schedules, limiting the use of shared equipment and the proper disinfection of between uses, limiting employees to only those essential for the task and limiting employee gatherings and increasing air ventilation using existing doors, windows and screens. Many of these guidelines were already in use at Treo, prior to COVID 19. Enhanced ventilation is also recommended for guests and should be encouraged. Treo plans to begin recalling any inactive employees beginning August 1, 2020, to participate in training and additional cleaning and disinfection of facilities and vehicles, prior to opening on September 8, 2020.
REGULAR HEALTH CHECKS:
Treo has already begun: beginning of shift temperature checks, daily disinfection procedures and use of additional PPE for active employees and the facilities they are using. This began in March and has increased as new guidelines have come out. Beginning in August, as more employees return from the seasonal layoff, the Person in Charge will continue/institute:
Beginning of shift temperature checks-MUST REGISTER UNDER 100.4.
List the symptoms of COVID 19 (cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of smell or taste) and ask if any are present.
Ask if there is a known exposure to a positive individual.
Ask if there are any symptoms commonly associated with food borne illness (vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice.)
Training on high risk parameters (age, chronic or serious underlying conditions conditions).
